Liu Yandong Meets with Polish President Komorowski

On December 19, 2011, Chinese State Councilor Liu Yandong met with visiting Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski in Beijing.

Liu hailed the sound development of bilateral relations, noting the two countries scored achievements in areas such as technological, cultural and educational cooperation. This has played a positive role in advancing mutual understanding and friendship between both people. She said China is willing to cement cultural cooperation with Poland as part of its efforts to promote dialogue and mutual learning among different cultures in the world and facilitate the harmonious co-existence and common development of all countries.

Komorowski said he was very glad to pay a state visit to China. Poland-China friendship can be reflected in political and trade contacts as well as cultural exchanges. Cultural exchanges play a very important role in Polish-Chinese ties, and Poland is ready to enhance people-to-people exchanges and cultural cooperation with China to contribute to comprehensive development of bilateral ties, Komorowski said.

Following the meeting, Chinese State Councilor Liu Yandong, and Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski and his wife attended a performance by Polish musicians with the Warsaw Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and renowned Chinese pianist Lang Lang at the National Center of the Performing Arts.
